Hola from Guatemala. We are the Mendoza Family. Karen and I have been married for 16 years. We are blessed with 4 wonderful children: Daniel (15) Seth (14) Caleb (12) and Rachel (9). We are originally from Loveland, Colorado and have lived in Guatemala for the last 3 years. In Colorado I worked for 10 years as a Loveland Police Officer. In 2000 I started going on short term missions trips to Central America. On these trips I was able to train the National police in basic police tactics and then share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Seeing the hunger for the tactical training and the Good News of Jesus Christ on the faces of these police officers was unreal. After much praying it was confirmed to both Karen and I that we were being called to minister to the National Police in Guatemala. There are over 21000 police officers in Guatemala and since then we have been blessed to have ministered to over 8000 police officers, handed out over 6000 New Testaments and have had approximately 3600 decisions to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior along with contacting local churches to help disciple the police.

Two years ago we were asked if we would prayerfully consider taking over a feeding center that was on the verge of closing. As we drove to the feeding center, we entering a very poverty striking and gang infested area. I thought “no way.” When we walked in the feeding center we met one of the ladies who worked at feeding center. She was wiping tears from her eyes. She told me that she had just been praying to the Lord asking for wisdom on if the feeding center should close or not. She told us about the problems that the center had come under and the fact that there was no food for the kids, no money, the electricity had been cut, no gas for cooking and the water had been disconnected. Karen and I prayed with the ladies and told them that we were not going to make any promises. After praying God gave us HIS Peace to take on the feeding center. As of today with the blessings of the Lord and the body of Christ we have been able to feed 25 to 30 kids daily and help 8 kids attend school by paying for their books, uniforms and monthly fees. We have a daily bible study for the kids and have been able to pay the wages of the two women God has placed there. Who had not been paid in months prior to us arriving.

We would like to expand our work with both the police and the feeding center. But this can only be done with your help. Pray and ask God to show you how you can help us with your finances and or prayers.

Thank you for visiting our web site.
